Biography: John M. Tomlinson, CPA

John Tomlinson is the President & Founder of Dunvegan Partners, a boutique financial services and consulting organization. John's recent projects include raising investment capital for a small technology company, and re-structuring a mid-size company to increase profitability and increase shareholder value. He focus on challenging opportunities to help companies with their management information systems, financial and business planning, mergers and acquisitions, and public company reporting for diversified multi-national firms.

John has over two decades of successful financial and operating executive experience. His most recent assignment was as interim CFO for a Massachusetts company which provides products for the electronic and automotive markets. During his tenure, John led the effort to acquire and integrate six smaller companies, while raising private equity capital and establishing an expanded bank line of credit. The company's valuation increased by 75% as a result of these actions.

Prior to this assignment, John was the Vice-President and CFO of a publicly held $500 million manufacturer of retail and commercial petroleum dispensing equipment and point of sale retail systems. Over 60% of its operations are outside the United States. While responsible for world wide financial operations, the company achieved a $50 million debt reduction and set a new high in investor confidence with a 500% increase in share price. John was also responsible for the accounting function, banking relations, foreign exchange operations, MIS, and mergers and acquisitions.

Earlier in his career, John was responsible for the turnaround of a failing, $75 million public company. John was instrumental in transforming a negative cash flow into $6 million annual EBITDA, leading to a successful restructuring and a change in ownership. In addition to experience with manufacturers, he also has experience in the medical industry, distribution, financial services, food service, and textiles. Early assignments included international marketing with Lear Siegler, a Fortune 50 company.

John Tomlinson is a CPA, earned a BSBA, Magna Cum Laude, from Georgetown University and an MBA, cum laude, from the Harvard Business School.
