Biography: Roy Plaut
Roy served as President of Kimberly-Clark’s Specialty Products business unit, a $500 million company subsequently spun off as Schweitzer-Mauduit International, a NYSE company. Earlier in his career, he created joint ventures in Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Indonesia and the Philippines. During his years with Kimberly-Clark, Roy lived and worked in Mexico, Colombia, and France. He is fluent in Spanish and French, as well as his native English. As the founder, with his wife Olga, of Atlanta International School (AIS) in 1982, Roy has been instrumental in cross-cultural education for nearly two decades. The AIS has over 800 students from 58 countries, and offers a bi-lingual education (English and French, Spanish, or German) and the International Baccalaureate diploma. He is also very active in the Society of International Business Fellows, a group of senior executives promoting international business interests. Roy earned a BA at Colgate University with graduate studies at
